Since 1990 Bal has been active on an international basis as an auditor, consultant and trainer specialising in software quality and process improvement. He has presented papers at International conferences/seminars for DTI, European Commission, ISACA and ISO 9000 Forum. Bal has been involved with the schemes for ISO 9001 Management Certification for software (TickIT), Management Certification for Information Security (ISO27001) and Management Certification for IT Service Management (ISO27001) since their inception and was one the first Registered Lead TickIT Auditors, ISO 27001(BS 7799) Auditors and ISO 20000 (BS15000) Auditors
