Saab Dynamics transitions successfully to TickITplus

Saab Dynamics AB has successfully transitioned from TickIT to TickITplus. The leading providers of military defence and civil security products and services became certified under the TickITplus scheme in January 2014.

The Swedish firm has joined the growing number of companies transitioning to the new scheme before the deadline of 30 November 2014. Not only is this another non-UK organisation switching to TickITplus, it also pinpoints a landmark as the first organisation to shift from a SWEDAC (Swedish Board for Accreditation and Conformity Assessment) - accredited certificate to a UKAS - accredited certificate.

Saab Dynamics gained certification through DNV GL, one of the the world’s leading certification bodies. With 16 hours of assessment and 100 people involved in the scope, Saab Dynamics achieved a TickITplus Foundation grade for their design and development of weapons systems and underwater systems. By holding a TickITplus certificate, Saab Dynamics will ensure the high quality of their software based systems, creating an advantage over their competitors.

Many organisations which currently hold an existing TickIT certificate should seriously be considering transitioning to the TickITplus scheme if they want to maintain their certification. With the deadline less than a year away, training courses are deemed cost-effective routes to gain more knowledge of the scheme, its concepts and relevant standards, and an understanding of how to make the transition go smoothly.
