REQB General Assembly Meeting in Berlin


The Requirements Engineering Qualifications Board (REQB) has met in Berlin for its General Assembly meeting. Main topics were the development of the scheme and the election of the REQB Executive and Working Group Chairs. New REQB Chair is Folke Nilsson from Sweden. Folke is working in the field of Requirements Engineering since 30 years and was a main driver to make the topic RE more visible in Scandinavia. As president of the IT Quality Nordic Institute he is leading one of the major networks of IT professionals in Scandinavia. New Vice-Chair is Eric Riou du Cosquer from France. He is a well-known testing and RE expert in France who is working in the field of RE in big projects since many years. Also the chairs for the working groups have been elected in Berlin. New Chair for the Certification WG is Beata Karpinska (Sweden), new chair for the Accreditation WG is Monika Stöcklein-Olsen (Norway). Karolina Zmitrowicz (Poland) remains chair of the Foundation Level syllabus WG and Alain Ribault (France) is new chair of the Advanced Level syllabus WG.
Folke Nilsson: “It was a very productive meeting. It is very good to see that the international community is more and more seeing the need for professional Requirements Engineering. REQB is the global answer on that.”

REQB is today a leading certification scheme in the field of Requirements Engineering. Professionals from more than 35 countries have been certified according to this standard. The Requirements Engineering Qualifications Board (REQB) was established in 2006. Its members are international experts for Requirements Engineering, who are working on a global RE program which is ISO17024 compliant. As a result, the board intends to create an international standard that will be recognized as the common language in the discipline of Requirements Engineering.
