New REQB Foundation Level Syllabus released

The internationally leading REQB scheme has released its new REQB CPRE Foundation Level syllabus 2014. The whole syllabus, which can be seen as a standard in the field of Requirements Engineering, has been re-written by a team of international RE-experts. The update is classified as a major one and contains a new syllabus structure. It shows once more that REQB is the leading scheme for Certified Professionals for Requirements Engineering (CPRE).
 
“After more than 2 years’ work we are very happy to publish this new syllabus. It is aligned with the new glossary released at the same time and also aligned with the globally leading ISTQB and IQBBA schemes,” says Alexander Linder, Chair of the Foundation Level Working Group which was responsible for the update. “I want to thank the team of writers and reviewers for their tremendous job with hundreds of comments and many review sessions done on a voluntary basis.”
 
“The update is a big step for REQB. After the Introduction document in 2013 we are now happy to publish the 2014 version of our REQB Foundation Level. But there are many things in the pipeline – we also plan an update of the Advanced Level Requirements Manager and the publishing of the Advanced Level Requirements Developer for this year,” says Folke Nilsson, Chair of REQB. “And, as an extension to the REQB syllabi, also a new syllabus for Requirements Engineering in Agile Projects is planned for later this year. Aim is to help customers to improve their Requirement Engineering in an agile environment.”    
 
REQB is today a leading certification scheme in the field of Requirements Engineering. Professionals from more than 39 countries have been certified according to this standard. The Requirements Engineering Qualifications Board (REQB) was established in 2006. Its members are international experts for Requirements Engineering, who are working on a global RE program which is ISO17024 compliant. As a result, the board intends to create an international standard that will be recognized as the common language in the discipline of Requirements Engineering.
