NEW A4Q SCHEME “TESTING FOUNDATIONS FOR DEVELOPERS” RELEASED
In cooperation with the German Testing Board e.V., A4Q is delighted to announce the release of the syllabus for the new certification scheme “A4Q Testing Foundations for Developers”. This new certification makes the content of the ISTQB® scheme even more accessible and relevant to developers (ISTQB® is leading globally recognized certification scheme for testing).
“The A4Q Testing Foundations for Developers is a tailor-made certification for individuals in the developer role. It covers the essential knowledge from the test area that developers will find highly beneficial in their day-to-day work,” says Thorsten Geiselhart, leader of the Special Interest Group TF4D and member of the German Testing Board.
The goal of the Testing Foundations for Developers (TF4D) certification is to impart basic testing skills to developers. TF4D is not intended to “retrain” developers as testers but to increase competence and confidence in effectively selecting and using relevant testing approaches, methods and techniques during the development lifecycle. TF4D applies no matter what lifecycle approach is being utilized and is applicable to developers working in environments that include individuals working in a more specific “tester” role.
This curriculum is specifically aimed at software developers and developers in test. It is also applicable to individuals in the role of Product Owners, Project Managers, Quality Managers, Software Development Managers, Business Analysts, IT Managers or Management Consultants who are seeking to acquire basic testing skills.
The TF4D curriculum will help participants to gain a basic understanding of testing in the software development lifecycle. All main test techniques are explained in the syllabus and static test, review processes and static analysis are given special attention. White Box & Black Box testing approaches are also covered.
The A4Q TF4D certification exam will also be available soon. This is a multiple-choice exam consisting of 40 questions. To pass the exam, a candidate needs to achieve a mark of at least 65% (26 points).
The new A4Q TF4D is available in English and German.
