ISTQB®

The International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB®) is responsible for the international qualification scheme called "ISTQB® Certified Tester". The qualifications are based on a syllabus, and there is a hierarchy of qualifications and guidelines for accreditation and examination. The Board consists of experts, which are sent from the national boards. At the moment the ISTQB® consists of more than 40 experts from all continents.

The ISTQB® was officially founded in Edinburgh in November 2002. Robert Treffny, gasq President, helped to set up the board.

Today the ISTQB® is the leading group of experts in the field of Software Testing. More than 110.000 people are certified according to this scheme. This makes the ISTQB Certified Tester scheme to the most successful testing certification in the whole world.
